Kew Bridge Steam
Museum
For January we are showcasing the magnificent Kew Bridge
Steam Museum as our venue of the month.
Located just minutes
from Chiswick roundabout, and easily accessible from Junction 2 of the M4 as well
as the A406 (North Circular) and A205 (South Circular), Kew Bridge Steam Museum
is the perfect venue for your entire event needs.
Set within a preserved waterworks, this 170 year old
building dedicated to Victorian engineering is a truly unique space completely
immersed in history. It is evident as soon as you walk through the doors that
you are being transported back to a bygone era. From the museum’s collection of
magnificent steam pumping engines to its cavernous ceilings your guests will be
in ore of such antiquity. It will be then you and your guests realise you are
surrounded by the very engines that powered the industrial revolution!
On arrival you enter the Grand Junction Engine House, the
perfect space for a pre-dinner drink then moved into the Steam Hall, a flexible
split level space for an evening of delicious food and dancing within a room
steeped with industrial ambiance. If this isn’t enough already there is the
opportunity to have the Grand Junction engine, the world’s largest working beam
engine operating for all your guests to see.
An added bonus about the venue is its versatility. It can
easily be made bespoke to suit your own style and personality whilst still
capturing the historic industry feel.
The museum is open for
functions twelve months a year. Access times for evening functions are from
17.30 Monday to Saturday with last orders at midnight and carriages at 1.00am.
On Sundays timings are from 17.30 until midnight. Daytime events are also possible at the
museum.
